If you’re wanting to take Athletics seriously or just want to develop your ability through a quality programme and coaching then head on down to the local club night held every Wednesday beginning 5.30 pm during the summer season.
Athletics Day
When: Tuesday 16th February 2021
Where: Porritt Athletics Stadium (78 Crosby Rd, Chartwell, Chedworth, Hamilton 3210)
We begin the year with our College Athletics Day at Poritt Stadium. Students are encouraged to promote their house colours and there are opportunities for both competitive athletes and students wishing to have fun and earn house points.
Zones Competition
When: Wednesday, 10 MARCH 2021
Where: Porritt Athletics Stadium (78 Crosby Rd, Chartwell, Chedworth, Hamilton 3210)
Top performing students at our College Athletics Day are then selected to represent Hillcrest High School at the Zones Competition or what can be considered an inter-regional event against local Colleges.
Our sports team manages and supports athletes on the day; both Mr. Fleming and Mr. Overmayer have a strong background in athletics and are available to provide specialist coaching leading up to this event.
Students are eligible to compete in all events held at our College Athletics Sports Day, with the exception of Steeple Chase and Hammer Throw which is not offered at the Zones competition.
We are fortunate that the location of the Zones competition is again at Porritt Stadium so students are lucky to be familiar with the track and field prior to competition at this event.

Futsal
We are very lucky to have the support of the Four Zero Futsal Academy led by Academy Director and National Futsal player Kyle Wisnewski. The team Kyle leads includes NZ Futsal Ferns player Serena Patel and former Hillcrest High School Sports Captain Jet Lim.
Last year our girls qualified on the back of their Runner Up title at the Nationals, to compete in the World Schools Championships held in France, Lyon but unfortunately, the competition was canceled due to Covid.
As a fundraiser for HHS Futsal, we run two Futsal tournaments a year in the HHS Gyms for our top teams. The tournaments are proving so popular that some divisions have a waiting list of other schools trying to enter.
To support teams we require parent volunteers to be managers. This is not a huge undertaking and makes the coach’s and organisers’ jobs that much easier. If you are available to assist, please contact Mr. Overmayer.
