2022 WSS Swimming Champs Report
On Thursday May 26 we had a small team of 7 students compete at the Waikato Secondary Schools Swimming Champs. The team had a great time and really punched above their weight with all swimmers managing to make a final and/or gain a top 3 placing.
Special thanks to our parent helpers and Sports Coordinator Bruce Fleming for attending on the day and helping with team managing and timekeeping.
Competitors were:
Year 9: Ashley Calcott, Carys Lawton, Amy Pinkerton.
Year 11: Madeline Coombes, Isla McNulty.
Year 12: Kaz Lohrer
Year 13: Trinaka Kenny
Top 3 Placings were:
Ashley: 3rd 200m individual medley and 100m freestyle
Isla: 3rd 50m freestyle
Maddie: 1st 100m breaststroke and 50 breaststroke
Kaz: 2nd 50m breaststroke and 200m individual medley,
Trinaka: 3rd 100m backstroke.
