WSS Golf Tournament

Between 18-20 March, three students competed in the Waikato Secondary Schools Matchplay Tournament at Te Awamutu Golf Course.

It was a tough three day competition in which the players had to play four rounds of 18 holes but the weather was superb and the course was in great condition with the greens slow in the morning, but picking up speed in the afternoon once the sun came out.

Rory Tiyavanich (Year 13) had two good rounds to get into the finals of Division 1. He had a tough final round and finished second in his division.

Dylan Lee (Year 11) missed out on the final of Division 4 and played off for 3rd and 4th place on the final day. He won his final round to finish 3rd in his division.

Annie Wang (Year 9) lost her second round to enter the plate side of her division and then one her last game on day two to make the Plate Final of Division 7. She won her final round to win the Plate of that division.
