Investment Club Kicks Off with Expert Advice from Craigs Investment Partners
The first meeting of our school’s Investment Club launched with excitement and energy, as a keen group of students gathered to dive into the world of stocks and shares. With support from industry professionals at Craigs Investment Partners, students were introduced to the fundamentals of investing — laying the foundation for what promises to be an engaging and educational term-long competition.
Our guests from Craigs Investment Partners, one of Aotearoa’s leading investment advisory firms, generously shared their time and expertise with the group. They walked students through essential concepts such as risk and return, diversification, how the share market works, and what to look for when researching companies. Students asked thoughtful questions and showed a real interest in learning how investing can help build long-term financial security. Using the Investopedia Stock Simulator, each team now has a virtual $100,000 to invest in the share market. They’ll be tracking their portfolio performance over the term, adjusting their strategies, and applying what they’ve learned along the way. It’s a safe and fun way to practise real-world investing without the financial risk — a valuable experience for any future business leader, entrepreneur, or investor.
