Year 9 JEEP Embarks on an Auckland Adventure

The Year 9 JEEP students recently enjoyed a fantastic trip to Auckland, filled with exciting learning opportunities. Their adventure began at MOTAT, where they participated in a stimulating workshop focused on designing a Rube Goldberg machine.

This hands-on experience allowed students to hone their critical thinking and innovative skills while engaging in a creative and collaborative project.  Beyond the workshop, students had the chance to explore the fascinating exhibits at MOTAT, gaining valuable insights into New Zealand’s technological and industrial history. A nostalgic tram ride added a touch of old-world charm to their museum experience.

In the afternoon, the excitement continued at the Stardome Observatory. Students delved into the wonders of space exploration, learning about the latest advancements in space travel and the exciting future that lies ahead. The highlight of their Stardome visit was undoubtedly the captivating planetarium show, where they were transported to the vast expanse of the cosmos through an immersive cinematic experience.
