Yr 10 Japanese class takes a learning opportunity during Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori
The Year 10 Japanese class made posters for Maori vocabulary of their own choice and wrote the words in Katakana scripts.
It was straightforward most of the time but there were some tricky sounds to write in Katakana. So it was a really good learning opportunity for the students to get familiar with how to use Katakana scripts to write the words from Te Reo and other languages.
The vocabulary in Maori is reasonably familiar to most of the students, so it was also a fun activity for them.
