The  Volare family was born in 2009 by two old school mates, Ed and Ryan, who attended Hillcrest High School from 1997-2001. The dream was to create a Traditional Artisan Bakery that produced the highest quality sourdough bread and pastries.

With one old oven, a tired mixer and a clapped-out old van, their dream began.

Volare is now one of New Zealand’s premier Artisan Bakery, distributing to cafes, restaurants, and good-food stores in much of the upper North Island, as well as operating six retail stores of their own. With a bakery that operates 24-7, their diverse team of talented bakers, baristas, packers, drivers, and managers are always challenging one-another to create the next best product and continually grow and improve their service.

To join the Volare team is to become part of an extended family, one that prides itself on quality, integrity, and transparency in everything that they do. And as that team grows and Volare begins to explore new territories, they remain committed to their local community and the people that have helped make this dream possible.

It’s all about good bread and great culture.

We are hugely appreciative of their generous sponsorship for our reunion dinner and encourage you if you are visiting Hamilton to visit their stores and try some of their fantastic products.
