Over the past six weeks our senior volleyball teams have spent their Saturdays competing in the Waikato Regional Volleyball Competition. In the current climate this has obviously been very challenging. Almost every team that entered into the competition was impacted by covid at some point. Somehow, Waikato Volleyball managed to work around this and still provide a safe environment for games to continue – something our players are very grateful for.
Our Premier Boys Volleyball Team are Volleyball Waikato Champions for the 5th year in a row after defeating Hamilton Boys’ High School on Saturday, an amazing legacy this team is building.
Our Premier Girls lost a close battle with Te Awamutu College NZ in the semi final then finished with a very convincing win over Hamilton Girls’ High School to take the bronze medal.
The following students were also named in the Star Seven Tournament Team:
- Kyla Te Wano Grennsill
- Mitchell Stone
- Tyler Wilson
- Liam Smith
- Tristan Barclay who was also named Most Valuable Player
Thank you to all the people behind the scenes who continue to ensure our continued success in Volleyball as a school.
