Virtual Reality Experience at Arts Faculty Day

December 9, 2024

During Arts Faculty Day last Wednesday, students had the exciting opportunity to experience virtual reality (VR) in the auditorium.

Thanks to New Era, two Meta Quest VR headsets were provided, and Grayson and Corbyn set everything up with impressive expertise.

While some students immersed themselves in the VR experience, others were able to follow along through a large projector screen, offering a shared experience.

The Quest 2 headset featured built-in games, while the Quest 3, connected to a PC, showcased STEAM apps like Google Earth and 3D Organon XR, a medical training software that allows users to explore human anatomy in 3D. This demonstration highlighted the growing role of VR, augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality in the future of education and personal technology.

We’re excited to see how these immersive technologies continue to enhance learning experiences!
