Valentine’s Day 2025

Last Friday, the Senior Student Leadership (SSL) team had the absolute pleasure of organising our first big event of the year, Valentine’s Day! We wanted to start 2025 with a bang by spreading the love to our Hillcrest whānau.

As a leadership team, one of our biggest goals this year is to find new and exciting ways to promote major events. So, to kick things off, we put together a fun and entertaining Love Island themed skit, hoping to inspire the community to purchase a rose for a friend, partner, or as a secret admirer. The response was absolutely incredible! The amazing feedback and comments from all of you made it clear that Hillcrest knows how to celebrate love.

But of course, an event like this doesn’t come together overnight. Behind the scenes, our team spent countless hours planning, organising, and ensuring that this day was as special as it could be. Seeing the joy on everyone’s faces made all the hard work worth it.

A huge thank you to every student and staff member who got involved whether you bought a rose, sent a heartfelt singing telegram, or simply supported the event with your enthusiasm. We’d also like to thank Grey St Chippery for allowing their delicious donuts to be sold on this day and Mrs Williams and Mr Cox for their encouragement to go all out for this event. Your support is what made this day possible.
