Hillcrest High School has a long history of welcoming international students to the school and our wider community.  After the impact of Covid  it is wonderful to have international students joining us again.

We currently have 45 students from eleven countries (Chile, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Laos, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam).  Just over half are  new to the school this year including 4 students from our partner schools Kosei Gakuin and Musashino in Tokyo. While some students live with a parent or relative others live with host families whose care and support is crucial to the success of the programme.

Already the students have enjoyed a wide range of activities offered at Hillcrest. Opening their eyes to te ao maaori at Tuwhare marae, experiencing history at the Auckland museum, representing the school at the NZSS futsal tournament, working backstage on Pippin or enjoying Hillfest and the Autumn Gala all add to their experience.
