Hillcrest High School students recently travelled to Cambridge High School to put their robotics and problem-solving skills to the test in a series of exciting challenges.
The competition began with a line-following challenge, where students had to programme their robots to accurately navigate a set course. The difficulty then increased with a “rubbish removal” challenge, requiring teams to programme and adapt their robots to successfully clear rubbish from the competition field.
Our Hillcrest teams performed extremely well, demonstrating not only their programming and robotics skills, but also plenty of perseverance, teamwork, problem-solving and adaptability. When things didn’t work the first time, students had to troubleshoot, make changes and try again.
Their hard work certainly paid off, with Hillcrest students taking home the majority of the placings, along with some fabulous prizes!
A huge thank you to Cambridge High School for hosting such a fun and challenging event. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to test their skills, learn from each other and enjoy some friendly competition.
