What started as a group of students making music together at Hillcrest High School has grown into one of New Zealand’s most exciting emerging bands.
Now, ten years after first forming while still at school, the group has claimed a major national achievement — winning the 2026 National Battle of the Bands competition, with lead singer Sinea also taking home the award for Best Vocalist.
The band’s journey began in music rooms, rehearsals, and performances at Hillcrest, where the members first discovered a shared passion for performing and creating original music together. Over the past decade, they have continued to develop their sound, build a loyal following, and perform across venues and events around the country.
Their recent success at the National Battle of the Bands marks a significant milestone in that journey. Winning the national title is a huge achievement in itself, but the recognition of Sinea as Best Vocalist further highlighted the talent and stage presence that has become a defining feature of the group’s performances.
From school performances to national stages, the band’s story is a powerful example of where creativity, dedication, and strong friendships can lead. We are incredibly proud to see former Hillcrest students continuing to pursue their passions and achieving success in the music industry.
Congratulations to the entire band on this outstanding achievement — we can’t wait to see what comes next.
