Hillcrest High School has a permanent, part-time Teacher Aide position, offering 30 hours per week during school term time only. This role is crucial in providing the necessary support for our students with diverse learning needs.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a candidate who meets the following key criteria:
Competent Typing Skills: Essential for providing Special Assessment Conditions (SAC), specifically acting as a Writer for students during exams/assessments.
Versatile Support Skills: Ability to seamlessly switch between whole-class support (which forms the majority of the role) and one-on-one support.
Resilience & Empathy: Experience or ability to effectively work with students facing learning and behavioural challenges or barriers to engagement.
Understanding of Neurodiversity: A knowledge base or genuine interest in neurodiversity and inclusive educational practices is highly valued.

Teacher Aide in our Physical Assistance Centre
Our Physical Assistance Centre (PAC) is looking for a Teacher Aide who is positive, patient, flexible and passionate about working with ORS funded students. An understanding of the complexities of behaviour and the needs of physically disabled akonga would be an advantage. You must have a desire to support students to achieve their potential in a variety of environments and be able to work as part of a team.
We have a permanent position available working with students and teachers across Years 9-13. The person would need to be comfortable with attending to the personal cares of students and also be willing to learn and perform manual handling techniques safely.
The position is term time only, 30 hours per week (including breaks). Applicants are to advise what skills and experience they have in working with children who have high and complex needs and abilities. Remuneration to be discussed with the right candidate.
