Te Puna Wānanga o Wairere Taiohi Ora symposium

During week 8, Seventy students from Hillcrest High School participated in the Te Puna Wānanga o Wairere Taiohi Ora symposium which was held at Te Papanui (Claudelands Event Centre).

This free event was hosted by Ngāti Wairere and included health, education and career exhibitions with guest speakers Te Whatumanawa Ngatai-Tangirua, Rakai Whauwhau & Ngakoma Conner.  There were interactive & chill zones, lots of cool prizes and lunch was provided.  

Petiwaea Thompson represented Hillcrest on the youth panel alongside other leaders from schools across Waikato.  

Thank you Ngati Wairere for providing the opportunity to empower our rangatahi, explore identity, wellness and wellbeing.
