Te Kura Tuarua ō Tihipuke would like to acknowledge the passing of Kiingi Tuheitia Pootatau Te Wherowhero VII.

Kiingi Tuheitia’s final address to crowds at Koroneihana spoke of the importance of kotahitanga, and this message is something that we can all take away from.

We would also like to acknowledge the accession of Ngawai Hono i te Po to the throne. Our ākonga were delighted to see her anointed, celebrating in D9 when it was declared. Annette Sykes has said that “political, economical and social wellbeing for our people is at the heart of what she wants,” and we look forward to her inspirational leadership in the years to come.
