Te Kōrerorero o te Akoranga Māori

September 25, 2024

Te Aohou has consistently worked at the Mathletics programme this term. He has achieved a certificate each week, working through bronze and silver levels. He is currently working at gold. In order to gain 1000 points a week he does extra tasks outside of class time.

He shows pride in his achievements and is managing other class based Math tasks more confidently.

Te Aohou has also applied for a volunteer position at RDA (Riding for the Disabled Association) Pukete, to which Mrs Richardson took him to the interview. Pending a clean police vet, he will be volunteering every Monday morning at RDA in Pukete – he will be feeding horses etc. Te will join the two students from the PAC who already ride out there, and as they ride he will assist with the horses out the back. Te did not know that some of the PAC students go to RDA as he is in class when they go.

We are so proud of him, he filled in all of the forms and remembered to take his 2 forms of photo ID. He answered all of the questions, he has some experience with the disabled as he helps the PAC with students.

Mrs Richardson writes,

‘This is the best outcome that I could have hoped for – he initiated this. Te Aohou did this of his own volition – I only became involved after he had scheduled an interview.’ As a kura, we are so proud of Te Aohou, too!
