Cricket
Our Cricket program is growing fast and so to is the quality. There is lots of interest for Term 1 and as a result we have 1 Girls Team, 2 Senior Boys Teams and 1 Junior Development Team all underway last week.

The senior 1st XI won the Secondary School 1A comp in term 4 and are expecting some tough competition this term. A good win in round 1 last week is reward for the training and extra game time the boys have committed to, over the past 6 months.

Futsal

Wow Futsal is growing at Hillcrest. With our excellent coaches in place for Term 1 and Mr Ashby now driving Futsal at school, we have 11 teams entered for Term 1.

Good luck to all our teams who start this week.

Junior House Futsal is Week 4!! Come on get into a team, dress up in House colours and come along to the JL and support your teams.

Volleyball

Trials are done, teams selected and Senior Volleyball starts this week. On the back of a successful Junior season in Term 4 we have so much interest in Volleyball again for Term 1.

Our Senior Boys Prem Boys had a warmup win v Mount Maunganui and all teams are looking forward to getting back into competition this weekend.

For our new Juniors, your competition is in Term 4, though we have a cool opportunity for you to develop your skills now! Mr Uivel has started some Free Sessions on a Thursday morning designed to develop your love and skills with Volleyball, which is such a cool popular sport at school. These Skill Sessions are being delivered by expert Coach and ex Hillcrest Student Harrison MacKenzie, alongside some of our top senior players who are helping out too! Get along Thursday mornings, have a go, learn & have fun!

Rowing

We are seeing more and more students getting into rowing at school. It’s no secret that Rowing is an awesome sport that exposes your willingness to commit, builds your determination, develops your grit and demands perseverance. Our Rowers are fit, strong & healthy – what an awesome sport to be part of. Mrs Raima Turner-Abrahams is our super TIC for Rowing at school and we row out of the Hamilton Rowing Club who also provide our brilliant coach Kylie Corboy.

With regattas over the holidays, club Nationals just completed everything is building towards Maadi Cup in March.
