This week we’re proud to celebrate Josephine Teatao and Samara Cribb, two inspiring Year 13 students whose leadership and service have strengthened our Pasifika community. Through their initiative, teamwork, and cultural pride, both Josephine and Samara have made a lasting impact, creating spaces where Pasifika voices are heard, celebrated, and supported across Hillcrest High School.

Josephine Teatao (Year 13)
Josephine has shown outstanding commitment to our Pasifika community this year. Her leadership, warmth, and reliability have been invaluable, especially in guiding and supporting younger Pasifika students. As a cultural leader and group organiser, she has helped strengthen the sense of identity and belonging among our Pasifika aakonga. Josephine continues to lead with quiet confidence and genuine care for others, embodying the values of service and whanaungatanga that make Hillcrest High such a special place.

Samara Cribb (Year 13)
Samara has been a driving force behind the Pasifika Study Group, helping to create a space where students can learn, connect, and support one another. Her leadership and encouragement have lifted others to aim higher, both academically and personally. Samara’s commitment to our Pasifika group and her willingness to help wherever needed reflect her strong sense of community and pride in her culture.

Fa’afetai tele lava and meitaki maata, Josephine and Samara, for all that you have given to your peers and to Hillcrest High School.
