Congratulations to Gemma Herbert (Te Puea) in Yr 12 who has been awarded Student of the Week for Term 3 Week 4.
Gemma has shown outstanding maturity and leadership in her role as coach of the Junior Premier Girls Football team. This term, while refereeing a match, she faced a challenging situation when an opposition coach strongly disagreed with one of her decisions.
Despite the pressure, Gemma remained calm and professional. She explained her decision clearly, reassured parents when emotions ran high, and continued refereeing the remainder of the game with fairness and composure.
Her ability to manage players, coaches, and supporters with confidence and respect is a testament to her maturity and leadership. Gemma’s actions are an excellent example of calmness under pressure, and we are proud to recognise her as our Student of the Week.
Thank you as always to Parry Group of McDonalds Restaurants for supporting our students and helping to celebrate their success.
