Preparing Students for a Successful Future

At Hillcrest High School, we are committed to guiding our students towards successful futures by providing a comprehensive Careers & Pathways programme.

This initiative encompasses various opportunities designed to support and enrich our students’ educational journeys.

Whare Rapuara / Career Services

Your Gateway to Career Success

Whare Rapuara / Career Services warmly supports students in exploring future education and career pathways through guidance, work experience, and tailored resources.

Extension and Enrichment

Unlocking Potential Beyond the Classroom

Our Extension and Enrichment programmes are tailored to challenge and inspire students beyond the standard curriculum. At the junior level, initiatives like the Junior Extension and Enrichment Programme (JEEP) and the Sports Development Programme provide platforms for gifted and talented students to delve deeper into their interests. Senior students have opportunities to engage in Scholarship and Cambridge classes, participate in national and international competitions, and join various clubs and groups that foster creativity, leadership, and critical thinking.

Trips and Camps

Building Resilience Through Real-World Experiences

Experiential learning is a cornerstone of our educational philosophy. We offer a variety of trips and camps that provide students with real-world experiences and opportunities to develop resilience, teamwork, and cultural awareness. Highlights include the Year 9 Tauwhare Marae Trip, which immerses students in local Māori culture, and the Year 10 Great Barrier Island Experience, a pioneering outdoor education programme that combines adventure with studies in sustainability. Additionally, international trips are organised to broaden students’ global perspectives.
