On Sunday 24 August we had a team building day in preparation for the upcoming Spain Trip. The students met in the Spanish classroom for a day of activities, important trip information and, of course, some delicious food!
One highlight of the day was the holiday photo scavenger hunt, where students worked in groups to take a series of typical holiday photos around school. Bad selfies, photo bombs, unique poses – you name it, we tried it. There were some very creative photos produced by the group and we’re sure our trip photos in Spain will be equally intriguing!
Another highlight was the boys’ haka led by Finn Roche (Y13) and the girls’ waiata accompanied on guitar by Ashley Buckley (Y12). These will be presented to our host school, Colegio Asunción de Ponferrada, during our first week in Spain, which we will spend in Ponferrada, northern Spain.
As you are reading this, we will already be winging our way to Madrid to begin our three week stay in Spain. We are all very excited about our trip, which is the culmination of 18 months of planning and hard work. This will be a life changing experience for the 17 HHS Spanish students participating.
Check out our tour group at Auckland Airport last night (Thursday 18th September)
