New Zealand are taking 44 athletes and 3 coaches across 3 teams to Orlando, Florida, Yiwi’s (Youth Kiwi’s), Jiwi’s (Junior Kiwi’s) and Junior Academy Coed to compete in the ICU Cheerleading Worlds and IASF World Championships at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex 25th – 28th April, 2025.
Sienna Watson is competing in 2 teams, Yiwi’s & Junior Academy Coed, in 2 competitions only days apart.
They compete twice over 2 days at each competition and are up against all the best teams in the world including Australia, Canada and Finland!
Sienna was selected for the teams early last year and has been training every Sunday since at the All Star NZ gym in the North Shore of Auckland, adding in extra training this term of 4 evenings per week, plus already completed 3 “Bootcamps” which are full weekend trainings and a 6 day Bootcamp training to come before the teams leave in the school holidays.
Every athlete also has individual homework training each week that is checked off by the coaches that consists of fitness, running, flexibility, tumble & then each stunt group practices together as well.
