School Board Elections This Year – Get Involved!

This year, our community will be holding School Board elections, and we encourage you to consider standing for election. Serving on the School Board is an opportunity to directly impact the future of education in our community. It’s a chance to advocate for students, support teachers, and help shape policies that benefit everyone. Your voice and ideas are needed to ensure we continue to provide a high-quality, inclusive, and forward-thinking education. If you’re passionate about making a difference, now is the time to get involved!

Meet Kevin Endres

One of our current School Board members, Kevin Endres, has been dedicated to advocating for positive change within our schools. Kevin has worked tirelessly to ensure that our schools are thriving environments for both students and staff. Hear from Kevin below:

Serving on the board at Hillcrest High School has been an extremely rewarding experience. Over the past ten years of serving on various school boards, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to decisions that support our students, strengthen our schools, and reflect the needs of our community. With elections coming up, now is the perfect time for more people to step forward and get involved in this meaningful work.

Many people are unsure about what a school board does or who can serve. In reality, being a board member is about representing the voices of our families, students, and teachers. We help guide school policies, oversee financial decisions, and ensure that our school’s strategic vision aligns with the needs of our community. It is a role that requires responsibility and commitment, but more than anything, it is a way to give back to our school community.

Some of the most fulfilling moments come from seeing the real impact of our decisions. These range from approving funding that directly supports students’ learning to making improvements that enhance our school environment. I’ve seen our school culture strengthen through initiatives that bring students and staff together, and I’ve had the privilege of working alongside dedicated educators who go above and beyond to inspire and support our students every day.

Being a board member doesn’t require special qualifications—just a genuine interest in education and a willingness to contribute. If you care about Hillcrest High School and want to make a difference, I encourage you to consider standing in the upcoming September elections. Your voice matters, and our students and teachers benefit when passionate community members step forward.

Our school thrives when we all take part, and I hope to see new faces stepping up to help lead the way.
