Serene Tangitu and Sreeakshaiyaa Krishnakumar from Year 13, represented Hillcrest High School in the Race Unity Awards. This was held at the Baha’i centre in Fairfield.
They did a wonderful job, and while they weren’t chosen for the semi finals, their speeches were highly praised by the judges. In particular the content of their speeches was described as “on point” and as offering mature insight into practical changes that could be made to decrease racism in Aotearoa.
