December 11, 2024
On the 15th October Kaliyah Fatupaito (Ngāti Paoa, Ngāti Tamaterā, Ngati Rangiwewehi), Anizma-Jae Titoko-Isaacs (Tūhoe, Ngaī Tahu) and Petiwaea Thompson (Ngāti Haua) were all acknowledged at the Pūhoro Graduation Ceremony. The graduation ceremony took place at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts. The Pūhoro STEMM Academy helps rangatahi see the connection between mātauranga Māori in STEMM; improves their academic achievement in STEMM; and, through strategic partnerships, provides pathways into high value careers.
These ākonga all put in heaps of mahi over the years. Kaliyah received a special award which acknowledged her commitment to the programme since Year 11 and the high level of engagement she had within the programme. Both Anizma-Jae and Kaliyah were selected to receive all expenses paid trips to America to visit high level industry experts.
