Our Tumuaki Mrs Williams along with Deputy Principal Amber Ganley, Head of the Arts Faculty Mrs Binks and Year 13 Assistant Dean Mrs Webber have all signed up to a year long course aimed at deepening learning, skills and capabilities for better understanding of the fundamentals of Kaupapa Māori and Critical Theory.

These are the building blocks of indigenising and decolonising ourselves, schools, centres and communities. Our facilitators Tanya Savage and Dawn Lawrence have been exceptional in helping us navigate our unlearning and relearning. They also ran a session for staff which explored the impacts of colonisation on education for ākonga Māori.  We aim to, and have already made plans to, make significant moves to support the learning and future pathways for our ākonga Māori.
