Current Vacancies
School Nurse
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about youth health and making a real difference to student wellbeing within our busy, vibrant school community. We may consider an Enrolled nurse who has a passion and experience working with young people.
Role Type and Hours
Permanent part-time, job share: two days per week, 8.30 am–3.30 pm, term time only. Flexible start date.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the Health Clinic is a welcoming, safe space for students.
- Assess students and staff who require medical treatment and first aid.
- Promote available health services; liaise with and refer to external providers as required.
- Review new students’ health records to identify health needs.
- Complete HEEADSSS assessments and refer any at-risk students.
- Support students to make responsible decisions regarding their own health.
- Assist with medical emergencies.
- Maintain documentation and update the register of all clinic visits.
- Provide updates to the Pastoral Care team as needed.
- Update, maintain, and replenish first aid kits.
- Maintain accurate details within our Student Management System.
About You
- Current New Zealand Annual Practising Certificate.
- Minimum five years’ nursing experience, with experience working with young people (preferably in a school setting).
- Comfortable working autonomously in a culturally appropriate and safe manner.
- Empathy, tolerance, and diplomacy.
- Ability to remain calm and in control.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in line with school policies, procedures, and Ministry of Education guidelines.
Remuneration
$40.00 per hour for a Registered nurse, pay to be discussed for an Enrolled nurse
Additional Information
You must be eligible to work in New Zealand to apply for this position. Appointment is subject to a satisfactory police vet. We offer a varied and stimulating workplace where no two days are ever the same.

Bi-lingual Teacher Aide - Dari or Farsi
Hillcrest High School is seeking a flexible, empathetic Teacher Aide who is bilingual in English and Dari and/or Farsi to support former refugee students in their learning. This role also includes responsibilities as a Bilingual Liaison Worker, helping to build communication and connections between the school and families.
The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills and be able to foster positive relationships with former refugee families, students, and staff.
Position Details:
20 – 25 hours per week, with hours to be scheduled between 8:45am and 3:20pm, Monday to Friday, during school term time only
This is a fixed-term position from 27 January 2026 until 10 December 2026, due to specific funding
Essential Skills and Experience:
Literacy and numeracy proficiency
Computer literacy
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Preferred: Experience working with children or teenagers in an educational setting
