Current Vacancies

Hillcrest High School is seeking a flexible, empathetic Bilingual Learning Assistant who is bilingual in English and Spanish to support former refugee students in their learning.

This role also includes responsibilities as a Bilingual Liaison Support, supporting communication and building strong connections between the school and families.

The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills and be able to foster positive relationships with former refugee families, students, and staff.

Position Details

This position is for 12 hours per week during school term time only.

Hours for the Bilingual Learning Assistant role will be scheduled between 8:45am and 3:20pm, Monday to Friday.

The Bilingual Liaison Support responsibilities may include flexible hours after school, depending on the needs of families and school communication.

This is a fixed-term position from now until 9 December 2026, due to specific funding

Start date: As soon as possible, subject to a police vet check

Essential Skills and Experience:

● Literacy and numeracy proficiency

● Computer literacy

● Ability to work effectively as part of a team

● Preferred: Experience working with children or teenagers in an educational setting

Dari and/ or Farsi or Pashto Bilingual Learning Assistant & Liaison Support

Hillcrest High School is seeking a flexible, empathetic Bilingual Learning Assistant who is bilingual in English and Dari and/or Farsi or Pashto to support former refugee students in their learning.

This role also includes responsibilities as a Bilingual Liaison Support, supporting communication and building strong connections between the school and families.

The ideal applicant will have strong communication skills and be able to foster positive relationships with former refugee families, students, and staff.

Position Details:

● This position is for 17 hours per week during school term time only.

● Hours for the Bilingual Learning Assistant role will be scheduled between 8:45am and 3:20pm, Monday to Friday.

● The Bilingual Liaison Support responsibilities may include flexible hours after school, depending on the needs of families and school communication.
