Cultural diversity is alive and well at Hillcrest High School.

The annual International Concert is always a highlight of our school year, and this year’s event held on July 24th, was no exception to this. Organised by our schools dedicated cultural council, this year’s show was once again a powerful celebration of our school’s diversity. The concert brought together student performers and showcased culture, music, dance and tradition from around the world.

With performances representing nearly every continent, the evening took the audience of an immersive journey. From graceful traditional dances and energetic group acts to soulful musical performances, each celebrated the unique backgrounds of our students and the pride in where they come from, showcasing just how vibrant and diverse Hillcrest is.

Beyond the spotlight, the event was a true community effort. Students spent weeks preparing – rehearsing, designing costumes, coordinating music, supporting one another – and their hard work was seen on stage. Lighting and Sound tech, the Cultural Council and the Cultural captains all played a vital part in bringing the night to life.

In addition to the concert, we also enjoyed celebrating the rich diversity of languages spoken in our community during languages week. Whether that was learning new phrases, playing games or appreciating music, food and traditions from all corners of the globe. It’s been a great reminder of how language brings our HHS community together.

A massive thank you to the Cultural Council, all performers, staff and supporters who worked so hard in making the 2025 International Concert and Languages Week two memorable events. We can’t wait for what next year brings!
