NZ Volleyball Representatives
August 21, 2024
Three of our volleyballers have been representing NZ recently.
Liam Smith, right in photo, is currently in Shangluo, China representing NZ at the World U19 beach volleyball championships. Liam was selected to play alongside Thomas vesty from canterbury and coach Luis Paulo Santana said “it wasn’t an easy decision to select two players from the pool of talent available”. The world championships take place from August 27 to September 1 and we look forward to following their progress.
Shanti McKoy, centre, has just returned from captaining the Aotearoa Maori Poirewa U18 wahine team that travelled to Thailand for the Thailand Club Cahmpionships where they came 9th place.
Kyla Te Wano Greensill, left, recently made her debut for the NZ Volley Ferns in their 5 match series against Australia. Kyla is a former student of Hillcrest and is also one of our volleyball coaches, having coached the premier girls team last season.
We are very proud of these 3 athletes and the work they have put into excelling in their chosen sport. We look forward to following their progress in the years to come.
