A number of our students competed in the National Rowing Championships at Lake Karapiro at the end of February, rowing for Hamilton Rowing Club, with some outstanding results:

Arielle Smith (Year 13) won Silver in the Club 8 and placed 4th in the A Final in the coxless quad.

Megan Sherrard (Year 12) and Elena Newman-Jacobs (Year 11) won Silver in the Intermediate 8 and Bronze in the Intermediate Quad.

Kayden Taufa (Year 12) and Johnny Butler (Year 13) both competed in the B Final for the Double Sculls and placed 6th in the B Final in the Coxless Quad.

Arielle Smith and Corbin Radford (Year 13) placed 4th in the B Final for the Double Sculls.

Elena Newman-Jacobs and Maddison Kennedy (Year 11) were 6th in the A Final for the Intermediate Coxed Four, with Sarah Chain (Year 13) coxing.

Marley Taufa (Year 10) placed 4th in the A Final in the Coxless Pair.
It was a very enjoyable and successful regatta for our rowers and has them excited for the upcoming North Island Secondary Schools Regatta and Maadi Cup.
