The NZ Athletic Champs took place earlier this term in Hastings. Louie Endres was the was only athlete from Hillcrest competing. This event was run by Athletics NZ and it turned out to be the pinnacle event this season.
Louie competed in the U18 grade which attracted the best school athletes. He ran in the 2000m Steeplechase, finishing a close second in a very handy time of 6m 11s. Louie’s time is over 30 seconds faster than our current Senior Boys record which is an amazing achievement.
