On Friday, August 16th, the Hillcrest High School Kapa Haka group, accompanied by our Senior Leadership Team members, journeyed to Turangawaewae Marae in Ngaruawahia to perform on the Marae Atea of Maahinarangi.
This event was held in conjunction with St. John’s College, Sacred Heart Girls’ College, and Peachgrove Intermediate School, under the collective banner of “Te Kotahitanga o ngā Kura o Kirikiriroa.”
The 2024 Koroneihana commemorated the 18th anniversary of King Tuheitia Potatau Te Wherowhero’s reign as Māori King. This year marked the second occasion that our schools have united to participate in this significant celebration, with over 100 students coming together to perform at the Koroneihana festivities.
