Congratulations to Justine Hua (Year 12) on her selection into the 2026 New Zealand National Youth Orchestra, part of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
The NYO is one of New Zealand’s most prestigious orchestral programmes for young musicians. Entry is by recorded audition, where applicants must follow strict requirements and perform advanced solo repertoire alongside orchestral excerpts from an official audition pack.
Successful musicians are selected nationally and take part in an intensive rehearsal residency, working with professional conductors and NZSO musicians. The 2026 orchestra will perform major symphonic repertoire, including Debussy’s La Mer, in concerts at the Michael Fowler Centre and Auckland Town Hall.
Justine’s selection reflects an exceptional level of commitment and musicianship. We warmly congratulate her on this significant achievement.
