On Friday 28th of August our Hillcrest High School Orchestra won back-to-back Gold at the ITM Music Festival Concert at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts, alongside our Concert Band who took home Silver.
This is an extraordinary achievement, especially for an orchestra like ours that was rebuilt from the ground up in May last year. Fifteen months later, achieving back-to-back Gold is something very few ensembles would manage, let alone one this young.
Our Guitar Group ‘Don’t Fret It’ also did amazingly well at the ITM Festival at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts on Friday 28th of August, taking home a Gold and a prestigious Merit Award for Best Percussive Group.
Don’t Fret It won one of only 2 Merit Awards that got given out on the day! We are very proud of their achievements; a big congratulations to everyone involved.
