House Sports Day 2025

Hillcrest High School’s ‘House Sports Day’ will take place on Monday 24th February at Porritt Stadium (78 Crosby Rd, Chartwell).

Students need to be at Porritt Stadium before 9am and report directly to their house area for their attendance to be recorded. This is a school day and all students are expected to attend. The day will conclude at 3pm. This day is a great way for students to build house spirit, build stronger connections to their school, and try something new.

Students are to wear their school house colours

(Rutherford – Red, Snell – Black, Sheppard – Blue, Hillary – Yellow, and Te Puea – Green).

They should bring plenty of water, sunscreen, a hat, and lunch. There will be a canteen and a sausage sizzle if students wish to purchase food or drinks, bringing cash is the best option.

This year’s ‘House Sports Day’ will be a house-based event where students will go around a number of non competitive events with the rest of their year level, in a rotation. Students will still have the opportunity to compete in some traditional Athletics Day events as well as tabloid sports type events.

We will also cater for our competitive athletes with a number of competitive events which will include a range of running, jumping, and throwing events. Students will need to enter this event through SchoolBridge, which will be advertised on the notices also. Competitive athletes will also get to participate in the house events throughout the day.

We encourage students to make their own way to Porritt Stadium. However, if students require transport, we have booked a small number of buses to and from the venue. Buses will depart from the front of school from 8:00am and return from 2.30pm. The cost for the bus is $5 return. So we can book the right number of buses, tickets for the bus must be pre purchased at Accounts by the end of Thursday 20th February.
