House Sports Day 2025 – A Celebration of Spirit and Competition! 🏆🎉

Porritt Stadium was alive with energy, colour, and house pride as students took to the track and field for our annual House Sports Day!

With a mix of competitive and non-competitive events, there was something for everyone, and the incredible participation from all students made the day a huge success and the best one yet!

Despite the hot weather, students gave it their all, battling for valuable House Points while showing off their team spirit. Some of the day’s highlights included the fiercely contested Year 13 Boys’ 100m final which was won by Sports Captain Liam Smith by a nose over 1st XI cricket star Saber Khawrin along with the excitement of the tabloid events, where students worked together in fun and challenging activities.

Adding to the fun, the Best Dressed Staff Member award—decided by a student vote on Instagram—went to Shiro Binks, whose commitment to house spirit was unmatched!

A special shoutout to Rutherford House for their powerful Haka performance, taking out the Haka Competition at the start of the day.

A huge well done to all students and staff who made the event so memorable—House spirit is well and truly alive at Hillcrest High School! The biggest thank you goes to our Sports Department, Mr. Kennedy and Miss Ground who planned and executed an awesome House Sports Day!
