After a year filled with colour, competition, and community spirit, the 2025 Hillcrest High School House Competition has officially come to an end and what a finish it was!
For the first time in 10 years, Hillary House have claimed the title of House Champions, finishing on 63 points, narrowly edging out Sheppard (62 pts), Rutherford (60 pts), Te Puea (58 pts), and Snell (47 pts).
This year’s competition has been one of the closest in memory. Heading into the final event, House Badminton, any of the top four Houses could still take home the trophy. The excitement and energy throughout the year have been incredible, from Tug-o-War to RAPID Relay, Speed Puzzling, and Escape Room challenges.
A huge thank you to all students who participated, supported, or helped make our House Events such a highlight of 2025. Your enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and sense of pride truly capture what it means to be part of the Hillcrest whānau.
Special recognition must go to our House Captains, whose creativity and commitment brought these events to life. In particular, Tyler Yu and Finn Roche, our Hillary House Captains, were absolute stars this year. Their humour, energy, and leadership made all the difference, helping guide Hillary to their long-awaited victory and making Hillcrest a better, brighter place.
Congratulations once again to Hillary House – 2025 House Champions!
Let’s carry this spirit into 2026 where the competition is sure to be just as fierce.
