Hillcrest High School Blood Drive
July 1, 2024
In late May, the Level 2 NCEA Sociology class organised the highly successful annual School Blood Drive in collaboration with NZ Blood.
The event aimed to address the sociological themes of community engagement and social responsibility while providing a means for students to complete one of their internal assessments. Students took on various roles, from planning and promoting the event to managing logistics and assisting donors on the day. The drive not only collected vital blood donations needed to save lives but also fostered a sense of unity and altruism among students and staff. In total, 71 donations were received which can save the lives of about 200 people. A big thanks to all donors and to NZ Blood for coming in.
