Last month Rosalie had the amazing opportunity to take part in NZ’s 10th Youth Parliament as Jamie Strange’s Youth MP. She had such a great time meeting so many passionate and likeminded rangatahi. Rosalie got to speak in the Parliament chambers in the legislative debate on the starting out wage abolition, and she was so proud to share the voices of her community as well as representing herself and her culture.

As a part of her Youth MP work, she was also a part of the Youth Parliament Health select committee and was also able to run a wellbeing workshop in Hamilton earlier this year, bringing high school students together in a space that can actually make positive change for our students in kura.

Rosalie highly recommends students to get involved in the next round of Youth Parliament, even if you don’t think you are a political person, it is an amazing opportunity to share your voice and experiences, and help create an Aotearoa that rangatahi can thrive in.
