We are incredibly proud to share that Year 13 student Daisy Evans has been selected for the prestigious Hyundai Pinnacle Programme. an initiative designed to identify and nurture young New Zealanders with the potential to become the country’s next generation of leaders.
The Pinnacle Programme supports students across a wide range of fields, including science, the arts, business, sport, and more. Through personalised mentoring and access to an extensive network of alumni and industry leaders, participants are supported to grow their skills, expand their thinking, and make meaningful contributions both nationally and globally.
Daisy is a driven and curious learner with a strong academic record, who consistently pushes beyond expectations, particularly in science. Alongside her school studies, she has already undertaken university-level learning in a new area, demonstrating both initiative and a genuine passion for extending her knowledge.
Her interests lie in neuroscience, especially in understanding how the brain shapes behaviour, thinking, and human experience. Inspired by neurodiversity within her own whānau, Daisy has developed a strong interest in improving how the health system supports neurodiverse individuals. She is particularly motivated to enhance communication between clinicians and patients, ensuring more inclusive and effective care.
Daisy’s approach is grounded in a desire to make a real difference. She values learning from others, surrounding herself with positive and focused people, and continually challenging herself to grow. While she is a high achiever, it is her commitment to contributing to meaningful change and supporting others that truly sets her apart.
Being selected for the Pinnacle Programme provides Daisy with an exciting opportunity to further develop her academic and personal capabilities, while exploring how her passion for neuroscience can create real-world impact.
We look forward to following Daisy’s journey and celebrating her continued success. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of both her dedication and the values we strive to foster within our kura.
