Celebrating National Principal’s Day

Today, on National Principal’s Day, we are proud to recognise and celebrate our Principal/Tumuaki, Christine Williams, and to thank her for the exceptional leadership she brings to Hillcrest High School every day.

Leadership is about far more than making decisions or setting direction. It is about creating a culture where people feel valued, supported and inspired to achieve their best. Christine embodies this through the way she leads our kura.

She is warm, authentic and approachable, taking the time to know our students, staff and whānau and building genuine relationships across our school community. Whether she is welcoming new families, celebrating student success, supporting staff, or attending the many events that make Hillcrest such a vibrant place, Christine is always present and deeply invested in the people around her.

Christine leads from the front with integrity, optimism and purpose. She has a clear vision for the future of our kura while remaining grounded in the values that have always made Hillcrest a special place. Her unwavering belief in our students, her commitment to high expectations, and her dedication to ensuring every young person has the opportunity to succeed continue to shape the direction of our school.

Under her leadership, Hillcrest continues to grow as a place where learning is valued, diversity is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to find their place, pursue their passions and contribute to something bigger than themselves.

Being a principal is a role that extends well beyond the school day. It is one of service, responsibility and care, often involving countless unseen hours supporting students, staff and families. Today provides an opportunity to acknowledge that commitment and to express our sincere appreciation.

On behalf of our Board, staff, students and wider community, thank you, Christine, for your passion, your compassion, and your steadfast dedication to Hillcrest High School. Your leadership makes a lasting difference to the lives of so many, and we are grateful for everything you do.

Happy National Principal’s Day.
