Aotearoa Spanish Language Week

Many exciting activities were offered to the Spanish students and the wider public all across New Zealand. Here in Hamilton, the Spanish Department at the Waikato University, also organised activities to celebrate the Hispanic culture and Spanish language.

Our Spanish students were invited to join their celebration. Alongside Hamilton Boys’ High students we had a little language activity after which we were taught how to dance bachata, the dance that originated in the Dominican Republic.

Our students really enjoyed dancing to rhythmic Latino music.

The class finished with a yummy selection of Chilean empanadas and churros con chocolate.¡ Que delicioso!
