Young Enterprise Maori Business Sprint

On 17 May 2022, the Young Enterprise presented an interactive workshop to a group of 35 Maaori/Pasifika students. The aim of the workshop was for students to work in teams to identify a local problem/context then develop an entrepreneurial solution using a business studies model. Students had lots of opportunities to improve their team building, public speaking and communication skills. Overall, the students left the full day workshop with lots of energy and enthusiasm about what lies ahead for their future world of business/entrepreneurship. A special thanks to Young Enterprise for delivering this programme in these COVID uncertain times. A big acknowledgement to our Whaanau class students and teachers (Nick Bryant, Caseymia Hawkins and Aroha Crombie for the welcoming powhiri and kai for our Young Enterprise visitors. It was a good experience for our Maaori/Pasifika students to experience our school’s Tikaanga and protocols in welcoming visitors to our school.
