On September 5th 2025, in the Hillcrest High School Auditorium three orchestras from Hillcrest High School, Hillcrest Normal School and Berkeley Intermediate School combined to form a large combined orchestra for a special collaborative project showcasing the power of mentorship, teamwork and community through music.
Some highlights include:
Mentorship Across Ages: Hillcrest High students guided younger musicians, fostering skill development and confidence.
Large Ensemble Experience: Students gained first-hand experience performing in a full orchestra.
Creative Collaboration: Repertoire was adapted to allow input from all age levels, emphasizing teamwork and innovation.
Community Engagement: The project culminated in a public performance, celebrating the talent and dedication of students across the Hillcrest Community of Learning.
This initiative exemplifies Hillcrest High School’s dedication to musical growth, collaboration, and community connection, inspiring students of all ages to explore, create, and perform together.
A massive thank you and shout out to the people who made this concert happen, it was a huge undertaking but well worth it for the experience for students, teachers and parents alike.
