Gateway

This is a structured workplace learning course designed for students who have achieved 8 credits in both Maths and English at NCEA Level 1 and are currently working towards Level 1, 2 or 3.

• The school arrranges a work placement, according to a student's interests, with a host company.
• The student earns NCEA credits which are related to their workplace.
• The work placement is for 1 day a week for an arranged number of weeks (usually ten). 
• The school pays for assessment and for any equipment that the student may need.
• Employers can use the work placement for trialling potential employees.
